District Institute of Education and Training (DIET Dhenkanal) is physically located at the heart of the town surrounded by bus stand, town police station, railway station, science center, Dhenkanal palace etc. which make it most easier for communication. The cool, delightful amazing environment of DIET attracts everybody with a melodramatic soulful feeling creating a sense of nobility in profession. It was established in the year 1986 as per adoption of NEP 1986 to train the Primary Teacher’s. In 1988 the S.T.S (W)Dhenkanal was renamed as DIET Dhenkanal to serve the quality improvement of Primary Education. As per recommendation of NEP 1986 the objective is to prepare the would be Primary school teachers and build up the capacity of inservice teachers.
